Two-Phase Flow

Occurs when both a liquid phase (water or brine) and a gaseous phase (steam and non-condensable gases) exist simultaneously in the wellbore. This condition is often a result of “flashing,” the rapid vaporization of high-temperature water into steam as pressure decreases below the fluid’s saturation point.
