Efficiency

1) ratio of the friction for a fluid moving through an ideal pipe to the friction for a fluid moving through an actual pipe 2) measure of how well a pump or compressor converts shaft horsepower into pressure and flow. More specifically, efficiency is the ratio of the hydraulic horsepower delivered at the discharge to the actual horsepower supplied to the shaft.
