Dynamic Flow Check (DFC)

A Dynamic Flow Check is the direct observation of return fluid flow against a constant pump rate, with all drill string movement halted, to determine if formation fluids are entering the wellbore. This isolates the flow variable. Because the pump rate remains steady, any unprovoked increase in returns definitively confirms an influx.
