Maximum Anticipated Wellhead Temperature (MAWHT)

« Back to Glossary Index

The highest temperature the fluids circulating in the well is predicted to reach at the surface flowline while circulating under normal operational conditions. MAWHT is a critical design parameter used to ensure that all surface well control equipment can operate safely in a high-temperature geothermal environment. The temperature rating of any equipment that encounters the returning drilling fluid shall meet or exceed the MAWHT
