Pump Out Sub

A sub run in the Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) that acts as a contingency circulation port. It contains a port that is sealed with a rupture disc or plug. If circulation is lost because the BHA below the sub becomes plugged (e.g., plugged bit nozzles or a failed motor), the driller May increase the pump pressure to a pre-set level.
